Trying to decide on new wheels for the new sedan

I've been watching the thread about wheels for the '07 and while there is a lot of discussion, there are precious few pictures to garner information from.

Basically this is what I am debating on: I'm waiting for a blue slate sport model with black interior. Below are the wheels I'm tossing around at the moment. I really love the twin 5 spoke design but I hate rivets (and they are everywhere now!). Basically my dream wheels are the ones on the Mercedes S class but from what I can tell the bolt pattern does not match and they are too pricey for me right now. I am looking for feedback about the wheels I have pics of below and any other ideas anyone has that fall in line with these. I'm not an expert on wheels and I know there have to be some out there which I have yet to find. I'm looking for 18" wheels and that is not up for discussion. I hate 20"+ rims in general and the tires for 19's are more than I'm inclined to pay. Thanks a bunch for any help.

First choice but price is an issue

Second choice but worry about color

Compromise but again price comes into play

Like a lot but worry how black will look on car

No idea why I like these but I think they would look good and price is no issue. LOL

I think the bolt pattern for Merc S class are 18"x8.5", Offset 43, Bolt Pattern 5-112mm, therefore would not fit the G.

Your second choice good because silver will always look classy on any car. For me, I don't like black wheels and I'm not sure if they'd look well on Blue slate, but you may get some convincing arguments from others around here, I'll leave it to them

It seems you are leaning towards 5 spoke or a split 5 spoke. This look is very classic and you cannot go wrong.

A good site with lots of pics is http://www.1010tires.com/wheels.asp and http://www.tirerack.com/ Tire rack has a '07 G image in it's database so you can select from an assortment of wheels (that fit) to get an approximation of what a particular brand/wheel will look like.

This is so far, the unofficial wheel info thread (plus you can gawk at RailGunners G for a few minutes) https://g35driver.com/forums/media-share-v36-sedan/138046-07-sedan-pics-aftermarket-wheels-tires.html

There is some info there and everyone is helpful around here, feel free to ask away.

#1 all the way. the other ones don't compare

'm curious to see what 18in aftermarket rims look like on the G. I have a set sitting in the garage, but the tires are way too small and would look like *** on the G so in the garage they stay

I'm not big on five spoke, I think these cars are too classy/luxury. Five spokes totally take away from that. Now that I got my opinion out of the way, Out of the ones you listed I'd say number 3. Good luck choosing. And I know, when the rims I ordered get here lots of people won't like them either.

Right. The Infiniti dealership here is also the Merc dealership so they told me that it wouldn't match. I have had some tell me that we could make them work but that is a lot of money if they don't work. LOL

I personally really like black wheels but I agree about the look on blue slate. Trey is going to see about getting someone to photoshop the ones I'm looking at onto a pic of the car (a guy at in his building at work has one) so we can see. I'm torn really.

Thanks. Those are definitely the ones that I prefer.

I'll check those sites out. Tire rack is where the pics came from and I am very familiar with them. The bad thing is that they don't have the blue slate color. They only recently added Diamond Graphite as an option for any year and ironically that is what I had before so it made it hard to browse and get a clear idea then too.

I've checked out the few threads in the 07 section about wheels, including that one, but there are few actual pictures in them and none of my color - so while a resource it is only helpful to a point.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. One reason I like the 5 spoke on these cars is because I think that is a clean/classy look. I think the highly detailed wheels and the big 20+ inch rims completely take away from the class of the car. LOL Like I said, to each his own. I appreciate your input regardless and don't worry if no one else likes your new rims - you are the only one who has to like them.

As for what aftermarket 18's look like, there are quite a few on this site but this one holds a special place for me.

I'm not a big fan of the five spoke wheels wither, BUT if I had to choose I would go with the first or second choice; first being best. Stay away from the last wheel, YUCK!

^^^thanks. I don't know why I liked the last ones when I saw them but I did and normally I would be saying ick too.

I've generally agreed with your opinions on other people's wheels, thus my request that you look at these. See, there are some people whose opinions matter more - but don't tell Trey.

I had 5 spoke rims on my previous car and actually I think they flowed better then multi-spoke rims.

I think when considering rims often the actual lines of the car make a big difference in what design will be nice. All things being the same (assuming each rim you look at will fit on say 10 comparable cars) the rim you like the most in a picture won't necessarily look good on all 10 cars.

Here was my A4 though just to show the 5 spokers
