Has anyone had the 6 disc changer/liner removed?

There is a great custom audio shop near my house that does mostly high end custom audio and interior installs. I'm thinking of running by there this week to get an estimate on putting the 6 disc changer on the floor in the corner and just flattening out the liner to make the trunk more accessable. I haven't looked at it real close, but what is the liner made of?

In a car with the HD based audio system, the single disc CD player, the compact flash reader and the IPOD inputs installed - to say nothing of the radio/satellite radio - the changer is just overkill.

Let me know what you find out. I plan on doing something with the CD Changer in the spring when the temps get warmer.

I had the changer removed altogether, and the liner replaced with the "plain" one. Dunno if the liner is malleable enough to be flattened effectively, sorry.

Did you have your dealership do this? How much did they charge your to take on the changer and install the trunk liner?

The dealership did it for $350, including the new liner. Seemed a bit high to me, but I was keen on getting that CD changer out of there.

Thats not bad at all. I would easily pay that for the new liner. All I want is the changer moved to the floor in the corner or sidewall and bolted down. Sweet

Yup, I stashed it in our closet. They offered to let me keep the old liner too, but where the heck am I gonna put that in our apartment?
