i had fun doing awd drifts w/ the vdc off in my FX and very impressed how these all season 22" sumitomo tires are holding up.

the snow mode makes a night and day difference

i'll take a rwd car with snow tires over an awd car with all season for the snowy days. hands down.

try it. i have.

I'm in Michigan as well and I blow right past most 2WD vehicles, including most BMW's. Yes, I have snow tires but it is the advanced all wheel drive that keeps the back end in check around turns at decent speeds. If I take the same turns in my 94' Mustang GT (it also has snow tires) the back end is all over the place.

T-Bone??!! LOL

the winter tire makes a difference- tech has advanced in all season, summer, and winter a lot since 94.

also, the weight distro, weight on each axle (this is differnt), and how narrow the tire (narrow > wide in snow) makes a diff.

i agree winter awd > winter rwd

are you in Macomb Co.?

I have an 07 sport at with snows on it, although i am not worried about getting stuck my slip light was on alot this morning..and I times I was a little nervous.. I think my 04 coupe 6mt was easier to handle in the light snow than this car.. although I am still adjusting to driving automatic.. I am really looking forward to driving the car once I put the summers on since I had the snows put on the day I picked it up.

I've got the best of both worlds, AWD with V rated snow tires. They aren't mushy at all when the roads are dry but they are bit noisy at speeds over 60mph. This car handles the snow so well it really makes driving boring, especially at such low speeds.

all season are a compromise that are GREAT at nothing at all.

get dedicated tires. best thing.

That's too bad. You would think that the snow mode function would benefit all models (based on what the owners manual says it does).

I agree with Christian, I believe we have the same tires. The Winter performance is awesome, And when the roads are dry you can still push it and they are not too soft or "mushy". The noise isn't even that much louder in my opinion.......although the stereo is usually turned up.
