Has anyone tried upgrading their OEM alarm system on their 07 G (w/ shock sensors - Viper 330V or Hornet 727t)?
Call Viper or Hornet's customer service and they can refer you to one of their installers in your area.

da_mayor - What alarams have you been installing (make + model). Have you installed the Viper 330V or Hornet 727t? I'm just looking to add a shock sensor - nothing too fancy. What would you suggest?

i beileve the passive upgrade is checkmate, a DEI product. for shock sensors one customer complained it was way too sensitive on his '07 G which is good b/c the wheels were important to them.

this car is very technical process and should be done at the dealership. remote starts will need to make an extra key (you lose one keyfob b/c they take apart the chips).

we warranty them for 4 years so it pays off especially all the electronic issues w/ the remote starts and intelligent keys

da_mayor - I'll be frank - I know nothing about alarm systems. Do you have a specific model # of the alarm system by "Checkmate" that I could request?

I thought you said I should get the alram installed at the dealership - not an aftermarket place, or were you referring to the car starter?

i can't say for other dealerships--- i am speaking for my own dealership that we have the knowledge and was the first to install the remote start and passive alarms the next day after the launch party.

each dealership has its own discretion lets say that

if your dealership offers remote start and/or passive upgrade i'd recommend it b/c they'll probably warranty it too

Actually Checkmate is NOT DEI product. It is usually crappy stuff. Also we can do the remote starts without using one of the keys.

I still have no answer on what OEM alarm to install. Brand and Model Numbers would be appreciated. Sure, I can go somewhere, and they can suggest an alarm, but I want to know if anyone has a tried and tested an alarm that works on the 07 well.

Thanks ... I saw thsi already. Couldn't find the Audiovix anywhere ... and the Viper 330v has gotten really poor ratings (i.e. alarm going off on its own, etc).

I guess my frustration is - da mayor says that he's been installing upgraded alarms on the 07 G's since November, and yet he doens't appear to want to share which alarm it is that he's been installing, or how its been.

This reminds me of the thread that he started w/ the wood trim that his dealership installed, and would ignore everyones request to know who it was supplied by or how much it was. Doesn't really help anyone out. I live in Toronto (Canada), so its not like he's competing for my business w/ other dealerships???
