Question Auto Lock or The Club for '07 G35?

I just bought a G35x about a week ago and want to use some extra anti-theft protection against joy-riders. I used to have an '04 WRX & was using an Auto Lock (for those that may not know, it's a heavy-duty lock that slips over a cars brake stem when parked). I can't use it on the G however because of the G's curved thicker brake stem (stem is the right word?).

I though about using "The Club" but think it might be a waste of money since crooks can supposedly saw through a steering wheel to remove The club.

Any ideas?

Does the G's steering wheel have metal inside of it to prevent sawing through?

Ideally I'd like to use another Auto Lock for the G's brake but I don't think the company that makes them makes it for the G . . .

i doubt the steering wheel as steel in it ... i believe a lot of car manufactures stop doing that due to safety

I had a autolock for my accord. Used it for about a week. Got over it and it stayed in my trunk from then on. I would only break it out if I felt there was a HIGH probability my car would get jacked.

There's a reason why the "Club" or similar "security" devices aren't popular anymore....they do NOT work and are EASILY bypassed by even youngsters looking for a joyride. Since newer cars now have immobilizer chips as a theft deterant, I would think that it would be very difficult for ppl to steal modern cars unless they are professionals or just tow the entire car away.

The Autolock or Club isn't going to do jack....but make your car look silly and actually scratch your interior.

I disagree. The autolock is a pretty good system. It locks onto your brake pedal so you can depress it. In our cars, w/o depressing the brake pedal, you can't even start the car. Unless you are a pro that can break the autolock (or the brake pedal), it would work pretty well. It just seems overkill now with the security in cars today.

I just throw a pair of skid marked underwear inside out over the steering wheel. That seems to keep the crooks away.

Also, just FYI, on hot, humid days you'll want to crack a window or else it will smell like baking poop when you jump in your car.

I am pretty sure that there is some weird pervert somewhere that would actually want to steal your car more, if you did that.

Does it hook up to the steering wheel? If so, it can be easily bypassed by cutting the steering wheel with a simple handsaw as seen on Dateline. Also, if it attaches behind the brake pedal, the pedal itself can often be removed with simple screwdrivers and a wrench. Furthermore, thieves can easily just saw off the entire pedal to remove the autolock and still leave the shaft intact to use the brake.

Hand saw is a waste of time ... bolt cutter is faster.
