Removal of center Infiniti badge (mountain)?
Removal of center Infiniti badge (mountain)?
I was looking at how clean the back would look minus any badging, including the "mountain" or center Infiniti symbol.
Does anyone know if this badge will come off without need for filling any holes? My old Subarus had pegs behind the center badge that went into holes on the trunk, making it pointless to take the badge off.
Once the weather warms up significantly and this ice melts (!), I'm going to wash/seal my car, but want to take off the badging from the back.
Thanks,
Chris

Chris, from what I have read from other members that have debadged their G, the Mt. Fugi emblem will leave a hole(s), whereas the INFINITI and G35 emblems do not.

Chris, here is a picture I found that shows two holes when the Mt. Fugi emblem is removed. This is not an 07, but from what I understand it is the same.
Am I just behind the times or does anyone else think cars look naked when they are completely debadged? I can see removing some of the badging on some cars what are over ornamented, but removing everything looks too empty to me.
I'm not trying to start an argument over it, it's just personal preference after all, but I'm curious- for those of you that completely de-badge, what makes you want to do it?

My previous car was debadged and I liked it...

I think the G35 looks strange debadged though. At first It thought well maybe the I N F I N I T I badge is too busy. Then I thought well leaving the mountain alone looks strange since it doesn't sit level between the tail lights. I guess if anything I will take off the G35S, but likely I won't touch it.
Oh and proper removal of badges is... heat with hair dryer to warm up the glue, then use floss (or fishing line), slide it behind the badges, from there use goo gone to remove excess glue from the paint and immediately paint cleanse, polish, wax, etc. after you do it to protect the region under the badges.
I keep looking at this pic and thinking if I should do anything or not...

I like the badging on G.
I have had a lot of people check out the car, both while it was sitting in a parking lot and while driving on the road. Most people cant recognize a car that has been debadged. By leaving the symbol and badging, everyone knows what I am driving. Besides, once I am in the cockpit driving, I cant see what is on the bumper, so I choose to leave it as the designers wanted.

My thoughts would be to just remove the G35 or G35S or whatever, leaving INFINITI and Mt. Fuji. This would allow the tail end to be very balanced and much more symmetrical.
I may try it. If I do, I'll post a photo.
