Carpet gripes

Does anyone else have places where the carpet does not lie flat, like on the edge of the transmission hump on the pasenger side?

Once thing I've noticed with the '07 is that the carpet seems to be much lower in quality than what was in my '03. The floormats are especially bad compared to my '03.

Strange considering they did such a good job upgrading the interior of the '07 that they would have switched to such thin carpet compared to previous years.

Does anyone know if any heavy duty carpeted floormats are available yet?

Could that be a weight thing? I remember the Supra did hollow-fibre carpet to save weight (that's admittedly a bit extreme) - thin carpet could shave some weight tho?

Infiniti's website shows all weather mats are available under the G35 accessories. I spoke to my sales guy today and told him that I wanted a set when I pick the car up on Thursday, and he said OK.....

I haven't had any gripes about the carpet, but the floor mats are certainly much thinner than the ones in my 03. I can't see the driver's floor mat lasting more than a year or so.

I drive with no shoes on to keep the wear to the minimum.

I just pulled my stock ones out and leave the *** season rubber mats in...

I just die a little each time I get a nice tidy black carpet stained

I thought this might be illegal in some states (haven't verified though). Anyway, as part of the deal I got with my car, I got all weathers thrown in, and I'm using them now. The carpets are still in the original plastic. I guess I'll see how they are in the summer...

The carpet mats, the ones that cover over the cheap platsic pegs, dont even sit right! The driver one is curled at the end towards the gas and break, but I cant feel it because my foot stops at the gas. The floor on both the driver side and passanger side is very uneven with lots of odd shapes, making the floor mats sit funny. There are lumps and odd curves, which is probably why the mats are so thin! I am hoping after the first heat waves that they start to take shape. My Acura had much much better mats than these!

I hope they eventually form to the floor.
