gas pump issues
Samething happens on my Z since I first got it, and they even replaced the valve a couple of times. What you do is gently squeeze the handle so fuel flows slower and it works everytime. After that fully squeeze it for maximum flow. If it cuts off again, do the same thing.
What kind of gas station are you going to? If its shell then that could be your problem because I can never get a full tank at any shell gas station, it would fill half way and stops. Exxon/mobile, Chevron all works fine though.

At any gas station these days they have the _auto stop_ feature right, you sort of hook the gas lever so it continues to push gas, while you can stroll around the look at your car... and then when the tank is full it automatically clicks off... know what I am talking about?
Well, first time, I had a pump that would make the click sound and stop when the tank was half full. at which point I had to manually keep pressing the gas lever - and it would click off even then after pumping in a little more gas - sort of like what the pump should do when the tank is already full.
I know its half full because I only put in say 8-9 gallons. and this same thing happened today again when it stopped at 8-9 gallons at the pump. and did the same auto click/stop even when i tried it manually.
anyone else notice this, how should I be pumping gas...?
its all 91 Octane FYI.
thanks

I've had this happen in NJ, where we have the same vapor collection system that California has. I simply insert the nozzle upside down so the lever is above the nozzle instead of below. This changes the angle the fuel enters the pipe, presumably reducing backsplash. I've never had a problem doing it that way.
I just had this problem! I will have to try the upside down technique. I tried filling up at two Shell's, then one Chevron, and still had the same problem. I finally just pumped manually with a slow pressure and it filled up.
I've filled up about 8 times already (I barely hit my 1 week mark.
Well, a week and 2 days.) and I don't seem to have this problem. I do the back off thing almost everytime because that's how I learned... I'm not having any problems yet but I'm a bit worried now since a couple of you guys are experiencing things.

the tip of the nozzle must be resting in a locked position against the top of the filling tube, as described above.
i think your filling technique just needs some refinement. how many times has this happened so far? different pumps each time?

as someone who lives in jersey where we dont pump our own gas, i've never had any problem with putting gas in. Not a single attendant has ever had any trouble, nor has anything ever happened.
I think it's you guys.
