Strange downshifts when going down hill?
Has anyone else noticed this? Just read a post on another forum where someone was asking about it and mine does the same thing.
If I'm going slow, say 20mph downhill the AT will downshift and the motor will rev up. Only seems to do this when going slow downhill.
Have also noticed the the AT hold the gear and let's the engine rev considerably more when straightening out after taking a corner.
I'm wondering is the transmission somehow reacting to the fluid level
in the transmission? Turns or going downhill maybe causing the fluid to run to the left, right, or front?

Yes, this is engine braking, especially when you're on cruise control, it attempts to maintain the speed no matter what.
I thought there was a yaw sensor of some sort and the AT is plugged into that and uses the input from the sensor to help gauge what you're doing when it's thinking about shifting up or down.

Lesee, we're speeding up, there's no input from the throttle at all, etc.
Something like that? My old Altima never did that, it just coasted, but my Matrix does that. A little annoying.
