Cool vid RG, do you see a really big difference with all LEDs?

Can you talk about the tools you used and where you pried the covers off? That's probably the only mod I'll do for a while.

It's not a big difference in terms of the amount of light, but it's a different color light. The factory incandescant bulbs are put off a yellowish light. The LED's are a white light. Basically, it's the difference between looking at a 40w lightbulb and a flourescent light. One looks yellowish and the other looks
white.

The white light makes it easier to read maps, etc. The LED's also don't draw hardly any power compared to the incandescant bulbs so I guess if you left an interior light on, it would not
kill your battery nearly as quick.

Getting the lenses off...

OK... the overhead lights in the front. I used a butter knife on the outer edges (left edge on drivers side, right edge on passenger side). A small bladed screw driver would also work. Just be careful prying or you'll mar the
plastic trim. The lenses have plastic 'U' shaped snaps that hold them on.

For the rear lights the big end has a little gap. I used a small eyeglasses screw driver to pop these off.

The ones in the door I used a butterknife on the bottom. The entire housing pops out with these then you pop off the lenses cap, switch bulbs, snap the lenses cap back on, then snap the housing back in.

It's not hard.

Sweet, thanks! With my last car, for both the front and back dome lights, I had to pry open the entire light fixture, not just the lens cover. I marred the crap out of the plastic trim.

I just replaced all four dome lights. I'll need to get new bulbs because my LEDs are too directional. It was very easy to just pry the plastic matte covers out (they snap on easily, too). I just used a flathead from my Swiss Army key chain pocket knife. I tried the door courtesy light covers. They are fitting too well, so I'll have to be careful.

Anyone tried these from Autolumination.com? They're a whopping $10 each, though.

Introducing the New SMT Tower 194 Leds

I was also thinking about something more directional (since both the front dome lights and the door lights aim directly straight at the cover) from SuperBrightLEDs.com:

12-LED, Wide Viewing Angle and non-polarized

Which LEDs did you use and where did you get them?
