On another note, many owners are complaining because they want better fuel efficiency and increasing displacement isn't going to do it. 306HP makes this car pretty damn fast, far more than we really need on the streets. I love my 07 sedan and I am happy with the 3.5L.

Think of the 2006 BMW 325 (and the current 328) -- it deviates from the typical "numbering based on engine displacement" norm.

BMW uses different names for their vehicles when they have a different engine, or atleast, a different version of the same engine.
The 328i, 330i, and 335i all have different engines; even though some have the same displacement.
The point is, different name for different engine.
So if Infiniti were to use the same method as BMW does for naming their vehicles, it will definately not be called a G35.

Well...the current G35 sedan definitely keeps up pretty nicely with the 335...so I can't imagine the coupe, with a more aggressively tuned version of the same engine on a smaller and lighter body, would have much of a problem with the BMW either.
Unless I am mistaken? Is the 335 significantly faster than the G35?
I don't know if I believe sub-5 second 0-60 times..

I'd be more interested in a direct-injection VQ35HR that has better fuel efficiency.
