Dash rattle?

Has anyone else had / heard a rattle in the dash? It occurs when ever I hit sharp pavement irregularities such as manholes and bridges (no I'm not running into bridges, I'm talking about the pavement transition at bridges).

It seams my G has all the early car faults, the loose sunroof trim and the air leak at the rear door. Just wondering if this latest problem is systemic or confined to mine.

yah i've this problem around the steering area and i did have the loose sunroof trim... but the rattling is gone and the loosen sunroof trim is not too big of a deal to fix it..... but other than that, everything is fine... did anyone notice that the engine sound is loud when you are outside and the car is running?

I get rattling from my dash too. It goes in and out during normal freeway driving. It's very annoying and when I press down on the dash it disappears... sometimes. My friend has the same noise on her 06' model.

I like the sound of the car when it's idling - it reminds me that I have 306hp under the hood.

I was confident that there was a consistent rattle where the A pillar meets the dash on the passenger side. It usually happens early in the morning under cold temperatures. I explained to the service manager when I did my complimentary 3750-mile maintenance. I got a loaner, they drove the car in the morning, and after 5 runs, they finally heard it. The A pillar was rubbing against the dash, so they applied a "rattle kit" that probably just adds more stuffing/cushioning to the pillar. At first, I thought the dash itself was hitting against whatever's underneath it (you can press on the corner of the dash yourself and hear it make contact with the surface or frame underneath it).

As long as you or the mechanic can reproduce it, they'll have to fix it. Good luck. Keep us posted.

I have a rattle coming from the cowling that covers the instruments panel went I hit a bump. My G is an 06 and the noise seems to be getting worst. I think the problem is caused by the fact that the whole assembly can move up and down electricly and is probably fastened only at two points. Is there any way to correct this problem other than just jamming a piece of firm foam rubber between the dash and the cowling?

I am getting a rattle or clicking noise from the dash at full or half throttle. I am taking the car in tomorrow.
