headlights sensor

Is the headlight sensor the black thing under the grill?

I washed my car on sunday...and the auto headlight sensor thing has been acting all funky. I cleaned the sensor and make sure there's no water spot on it. Usually when it is day time and i drive under a bridge, my headlights will go on till a couple of seconds after i pass the bridge. But ever since the car wash, my headlights just stays on. But when i switch it to off then back to auto, it'll detect that it is the day time. I have no issue of it changing from daytime to night time, but only from night time to day time.

It actually works fine now, after a couple of days. Weird.

Have this happened to anyone?

Headlight sensor is on the dash.. Under the front grill is the outside temp sensor

I don't have the car yet, but since you have the Tech package in your sig, you might be referring to the ICC sonar under the grill.

Zigackly right

I always thought it was the laser guided whachamacall it.

Check your windscreen for dirt and the sort (I think the sensor is bottom drivers side)
