Sorry. I just noticed other comparisons and I was completely unsatisfied with my local BMW dealer so I thought I would share my opinion.

But as a response to the original post, I too have had some very nice compliments on my new car. I love it and it looks like other people are starting to show an interest as well. Maybe some more will sell in my area soon.

Updated: First Compliment

Here is an update on the situation where I received my first compliment on my G last week. I think it was last Wednesday.

I went to the same Donuts Delight this morning for a coffee on the way to work (I drove the SUV to work today). As I was driving out of the parking lot I notice a nice black 2007 G drive into the parking lot. I drove just behind the car as it pulled into the parking spot to check the model (it was an X). The driver then stepped out of the car (I could see in my rear view mirror). It was the same guy I spoke to last week.

I need to go back there tomorrow to see if I can find the guy. I have to get the details. Are there enough cars out there to be able to get one in less than a week (I know I had to wait a while to get mine)? There was a "normal" (i.e. non-dealer) CT plate on the black G35.

Wow, great story. I can't believe the guy bought one since last week.

Yeah, really. I guess the difference in low end torque didn't sway him, LOL. Bitten by the 306 hp. marketing scheme.

What an idiot!! That guy probably* just essentially paid M45 money for a G35X when you factor in the money he ate in the brand new BMW.

*disclaimer- pure speculation and wild approximation. There could be significant error in this guesstimate.

We both walked out at the same time. I saw him get into his new BMW 335.
gotta love it

Updated

I ran into the same guy again today (at the same Donuts Delight, I think I have gained 5 pounds eating there the last week). Turns out he got his new G at a dealership in Jersey. He has the exact same options as I do (everthing except no Tech Package, it seems really hard to get around here without a really long wait like SPEEED).

He didn't trade in his new 335 though. Turns out he has quite the car lineup. He has the 335, X5 4.8i, and a Volvo wagon.

Lucky Guy!!

When I was at a fast food place ordering my food there was a paramedic behind me in line and I caught him staring out the window at my G! He saw me staring out there too and asked if it was mine. After ordering his food he told me he has a highly modified STi but he has been looking at the new G sedan on line and asked if mine was the Sport. He also said that he wished his Subaru didn't come with the standard CDN$25k Impreza interior. Car guys are all the same, when we see a nice car we just have to stare.

Volvo Wagon?? I see NO need for that, unless he needs something armored to transport all his frickin money in?!?!

SCENE: Topless bar with all the guys staring out the windows at their cars...
Oh wait. Those places usually don't have windows. Or so I've been told.
