So I popped the hood to see how much space and and clearance we have around the two airbox as a potential location for intake upgrade. What I saw kind'a puzzled me... The two airboxes do not have any visible inlets. In o3-06 engines there was an air duct located towards the front of the engine compartment that channeled air to the airbox. On our engines (07') however, I can't seem to find the inlet. I assume there are inlets underneath the airboxes, but I'm trying to figure out where they are exactly.
Anyone has an answer?

They might be down below the boxes. Get the car on a ramp and pull the underbody covers.

Where outside of NY are you? I was just in South Jersey and drive up/down from Sidney, NY.

Open up your hood.
Look into your grill.
Then look to the side behind the grill (both sides)
You should see square looking inlets with the corners rounded off.
Those are the inlets. I saw them when I looked at the 07 when it first came out.

Out of curiosity, would you say that the inlets are positioned close enough to the grill that they would support infinity’s "Ram Air" claim. Or are they set way back? The slits in the grill are pretty narrow to begin with so I'm not sure how much ram air is being channeled directly to the inlets. Just curious.Originally Posted by badtziscool

Have you seen the Infiniti print ads in the magzines? The one that shows their CAI layout? that should clear up some of the questions. I tried to find it online but couldn't.

I don't really quite remember but I remember telling myself that it would get a better ram air effect if the slits were open more (insert dirty thought now). Originally Posted by pauly1

Now that I think about it, I do believe the inlets are directly behind the grill where the slits are twisted in a closed position.
