Nitrofill

Anyone else picked up his/her 2007 sedan with nitrogen in the tires? I was given a registration card with a member number to register online at www.whynitrofill.com, which would entitle me for various road side assistance overages and free nitrogen refills….

Anyone?

Geesh. I didn't get that....

I better find out why. Maybe it's not permitted in California - along with almost anything else worth having or doing.

Call Manny and have him check on that for you. If I had to guess it probably has something to do with the different tires we have (X vs. Sport).

well you shouldn't need to refill your tires, that's the cool part about nitrogen! it doesn't seep like regular air or get effected by temperature changes as much. The dealer will check and add nitrogen as needed during your regular maintenance.

Should you find the pressure too low, or you get a flat and need to add air, just use generic air, but make sure when you go in for your next oil change tell them which tire you added air to and they will purge and refill the tire with nitrogen.

BTW, Manny was my salesman as well, looks like 3 of us went to Devan.

air is 80% nitrogen. doesn't really matter as long as you get it for free at the dealer.

Ok if air is 80% nitrogen and normal air leaks out of tires then after topping off the tires a couple of times wouldn't most of it be nitrogen? is the dealer giving this stuff out then you have to pay for it down the road.

Actually quite the opposite happens, it won't become pure nitrogen because of other molecules found in common air, such as oxygen which has corrosive properties, and most importantly, water which can turn to gas and back to liquid while driving, causing increased pressure exactly when you don't want it which is under performance when tires heat up. when you top off, you are adding more moisture to the tires, the tiniest bit of moisture far outweighs the small % of other gases that do seep through the tire over time.

no it's free for life as long as you registered.

I recommend hitting the site for information.

The airline industry is required to use nitrogen filled tires, all racing vehicles use nitrogen and so do many industrial vehicles. While the benefits are not blaring, they are subtle and do exists... and when it's free! who could possible complain!

I asked my service advisor about it about a month ago. According to him Devan started to use it in late December in all the New Gs. He said if I wanted it, I would have to pay for it. They quoted me 69 bucks as i posted here
https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=nitro

They also said I would have to pay that every year.

Also, I think Devan is the only place to get it filled around here.
