Brake Noise - So Soon?

My 07 has 3800 miles on it.. and lately the brakes have been making noise..

It does not happen every time I brake.. but the sound is similar too having the parking brake on while trying to drive.. and obviously the parking brake isnt on..

It sounds horrible.. and why is it having brake noise soo soon?? A couple of times I thought it was another car but it was me..

Any ideas? any one else seeing or hearing this in their caR?

Mine does it in reverse as well. Otherwise no problems after 5000 miles.

If you hear noise going forward take it in before you do some real damage if you have for example a sticky caliper.

generally speaking, when you're in reverse, you're probably not going as fast thus not braking very hard either. Plus, you're probably braking "cold" since in most cases when people go in reverse, it's after they've parked a bit and then are backing out of a parking spot or garage or something. With light braking, you might hear squeal due to the brake dust or moisture, especially if it's "cold" braking where you haven't actually and done real braking to get rid of the moisture or dust.

My wife's nissan sentra does this all the time and I notice it on my G. I also remember this same effect on my old Integra GS-R.

I was surprised that my Lexus IS300 didn't do it.

Yep, cold braking is what my dealer said when I complained. Mine always did it in the morning backing out of the drive. It is fine now that it is warming up outside. My neighbors probably do not like this excuse since I leave at 5am and it can be a real load squeal on a really cold day.

You can also have a glaze on your pads that will cause this, usually heard under light braking, my '05 has done this almost since new, it is more prominent when the brakes are cold. At almost 17k, my pads and rotors still look like new.

I have just started to notice front break squeal on my 07 G35 sport with 1800 miles. It happens during light breaking while moving slowly like in stop and go traffic or while pulling into parking lot. no noise when reversing. Does not happen when I first start driving, it starts happening about 15 minutes into driving.

Will give service a call and post when I get more info.

I have the same damn issue. I just reached the 3900-mile mark on my 2007. I think this is ridiculous.

I once had a 05 loaner which had some brake noise but after driving for a few miles till the brake warmed up, the noise went away.
