On an earlier thread, it was said that this is a software issue that Infiniti is working on, and that hardware fixes wouldn't work. Supposedly, this was based on their dealer calling Infiniti and getting info straight from them.

See https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...=130556&page=4

So what gives? Do I bite the bullet and replace my computer, or do I hope and pray that they will really fix the software without my having to rip all my CD's again?

Or do I just go back to using my trusty bluetooth headset, and voice-dial through my Razr?!

Lost my voicetags for the second time as well. Like everyone else the names and numbers are there but the voicetags are gone. Kind of a pain to redo them again.

Here's what worked for me (so far) >>>>

Not sure which part of this did the trick, but here's what I did and the voicetags work fine now:

* Re-do the pairing process again
* Ignition ON (not ACC)
* Sit in driver's (not passenger) seat
* Don't use the keypad for entry - transfer the entries over via Bluetooth
* Speak normally but with not a lot of pause between words

I hope this helps.

Tom

Problem solved... new TSB

If you lost your voicetags, go to your dealer and have them apply ITB 07015 (came out on 5/30). It's simple software update for the VR. Affects cars built on and before 3/07. You won't lose any of your settings, songs, phone number or addresses.

Sweet!

Do you have a URL documenting that service bulletin? www.infinitihelp.com doesn't have anything after May 17th.

Dude I posted the link 2 posts above your post

That is basically the whole TSB.

BTW the fix takes about 10-15 minutes. My dealer did it without an appointment. So far so good, will post back after a week or so.

I also got the fix today. (Thanks for the info, skym!)

The update went smoothly -- as advertised, no settings, songs, or address book entries were lost.

We'll see if this works.

Got the fix on my first service 2 weeks ago. As of right now my voicetags work fine without being deleted.

But now I have to turn off/on my bluetooth on my phone for the car to recognize it. Does not happen everytime I get in the car, so not sure if its my phone or the update.

All in all i like that i can use the voicetags with having to restore them every other day.

I've had the update for four weeks, and my voice tags have remained.

Fortunately, I haven't had the bluetooth pairing problem mentioned above. (I'm using a Verizon RAZR, FYI.)

I called my dealer 3 weeks ago and they had no clue. They said they ordered the update CD and would call me when it comes in. Mine also has the problem with not recognizing 7 digit numbers when speaking...it stops on the 6th number. I'm in Salt

I just got the update done today. My dealer also had never heard of disappearing voicetags to be a current problem. When I called the service center to setup an appointment, I had to give them the Technical Service Bulletin number (ITB07015) in order for them to realize what I was actually talking about. But after that was settled, it was smooth sailing. In and out 10 mins max. I'll keep ya guys updated whether the voicetags stick but considering the success stories so far, I wouldnt expect a problem.
