Powerband question

Powerband question
I have a pretty stupid question. Where is the Powerband on my G35?
Is the object to keep engine in the range of the most torque or highest horsepower for maximum performance? If it is the most torque where can I find a dyno of a stock G?
Thanks and don't laugh!!

Thanks for the dyno, but I don't really know how to read it in regards to performance.
Say I wanted to accelerate as fast as possible, what RPM's should I be shifting at? If the goal is High Torque it looks like shifting at 5000 RPM's is the key but if it's power then it's 6600 RPM.
I know what a powerband, in that you want your engine in it. I just don't know where it is...
Sorry for the dumb question,
Vince

If you want to accelerate as fast as possible, then you redline your G [7500 RPM]. Shifting at 4500-5000, where the highest level of torque is, isnt going to make you accelerate faster.
For maximum acceleration, you need the maximum available power [hp].

I'm not an expert, but this should be the gist.

yea exactly rite, you want to rev it as high as possible so next gear doesnt fall in to short.....if you shift at 5k in first lets say...second is going to come in at around 3500 which is too low for fast accelartion as opposed to shifting at about 7-7200 so when you shift to the next gear your at about 4500-5000 understand?
