Talking I can't wipe this grin off my face!

Well I finally hit 1,200 miles and I babied it long enough.

This car really moves! Wow! This is the faster car I ever owned. The paddle shifters are so much fun too.

Don't tease us!

I'm just over half way to break-in and have been tempted to take my wife's car to another dealership to take a test drive and really spank a new G.

They are fun. The I got to romp on one back when they first came out. Between the sales guy and I we killed 5k miles off those tires.

I didn't even get a chance to beat on it when I test drove it. My sales person looked scared when I was going 50 in a 30.

Two and half weeks now, and about 700 miles. I must say that I don't baby it as much as I babied the coupe. Mainly because it's hard to control RPMs on this new AT. She revs up so much faster and easier than the coupe

With the coupe, accelerating with a 6MT, it felt like pulling a semi-trailer. The car was louder and the RPMs climbed slower. On this car though, the slightest step on the gas, jerks the RPMs to 4,000... it's just hard to keep it within limits. I don't drive it like I stole it, but there were already a few occasions where I caught myself hitting redline - mainly due to slow morons driving on the left lane

For those that are waiting to open it up, you will be amazed how much power it really has.

Definitely worth the wait!

I've been out of town a lot, so it took me a while to put some mileage on my car. I was finally able to put a lot of mileage this past week. When I got home last night, my car had 1,197 miles! Now, I won't feel bad if I drive it like I drove a G35 from the dealership when I first test drove the G. Well, I'll wait 3 more miles for the "official" 1200 miles :-) .

And you didn't go drive the extra 3 miles to get to 1,200?!? That's just lack of commitment...

Well, I'm now at 1200 kms in 3 weeks....800 or so to go.

But man, Treacherous and Speed are right. I've been babying the car as much as possible (also except for those left lane bandits), but it's tough to keep this version of the VQ with AT within our break-in limits.

I also had an Maxima ('04) 6mt prior to this G and though it had tons of torque and hp, getting it to the ground effectively was brutal - and often scary with the torque steer.

Conversely, today I went out to get some Easter stuff and after sitting at a stop to turn right, watching car after car go by for what seemed like minutes, I had that feeling of 'grrrrrrrrr!', saw a gap, and kicked it a bit more than I have been doing. HOLY CRAP!! It was in DS mode and the G just jumped off the line, turned the corner with a little tail twitch, growling up to 6000 rpm before I knew it. Nice!! (though unintentionally harsh). My old Max would have been bucking and twisting. Can't wait to just be able wind the G out with WOT and no worry - other than radar.

Wow it's fun - and civilized to boot.

I'm not sure the occasional 5k rpm rev will hurt anything...
Especially since it is next to impossible to avoid!!!

And when it does - the instantaneous kick in the butt is quite pleasant. LOL.
I've driven most of my Infinitis with some degree of "spunk" in the early months and have never had an adverse affect on the engine in the long term.
So for hose who are feeling guilty at hitting the redline too early, relax.
Enjoy this little rocket ASAP!!
