Treacherous: thanks for posting diagrams for '07. Good Info.

I had the wheels off my '07 G35S off yesterday for thorough cleaning and wax. I found that using the front jack point under the side of the car (not the points under the cradle and differential) with the grooved hockey puck allowed raising the entire side enough to remove both front and rear wheels. The front wheel was about 4-5 inches off the floor when the rear came up enough to remove the wheel.

Don't know if this will work on non-sport, which has less stiff suspension.

BTW, one rear wheel had what looked like tar spots but turned out to be chipped or flaking silver paint--the black undercoat was showing through. I'll call the dealer Monday, I assume they'll just replace the wheel.

I rotated my tires this morning.

I used these adapters with floor jacks to easily lift each side with no damage.

Instead of using two jacks I use to just get two 2X4s and drive up on them which gave me enough clearance to jack up the car. I now have ramps that I drive up on then u can use the jack to lift up the car to put floor stands under.

Quick note : if you jack the car up from the rear while the car is on the ramps be extremely careful. the jack tends to pull the car back the higher you go. you don't want the car to come off the ramps and roll back on you..

 

If it's a coupe I'm pretty sure everything is the same. For sedan's I've never done one so I don't know

 

I want to rotate my tires and I can't find a safe palce to put the floor jack except on the jack point. On my other cars I was able to find a metal body section in between the front and rear so I'd only have to jack the car up once per side to rotate the tires. On the 07 seems like there is some plastic between the jack points.

Has anyone here found a safe part of the frame to do as above?

oh, if that's for an 07, I'm not 100% sure.. your best bet is to get the service manual.

 

Good warning!!!!.... anytime I am working under a car... with jack stands or ramps I also put an extra set of ramps under car where I can. I also use a tire when possible. I may just be paranoid but I'd rather it crash down on those items than get crushed under the car.

One of my guys at work assisted with CPR on his neighbor who raised his car with nothing more than a single hydraulic jack. The jack failed while he was under car and fell on him. The guy is now in a coma. This happened a few weeks back.

 

IF "A" and "B" are supposed to be the standard jack up points and the 4 other points are for the emergency spare jack, the adapter that previous posters have mentioned would be very helpful for lowered cars to lift directly from the 4 weld pinch jack points since even a standard low profile floor jack won't fit under the front or rear bumper to make it to the axle points w/o first having to lift the car a bit for it to fit, as the video bythabay posted illustrates.
