SAT Radio Reception Issues
Hey, wanted to find out if anyone else is having reception issues with their 07?
I have XM since I have the NAV package. Lately the reception has been ****ty in the NYC/Central Jersey area for me. It keeps cutting in and out all the time and it's getting frickin' annoying as hell.
Wanted to see if anyone else has had such an issue.
Thanks.

XM uses both satellites and terrestrial for delivery. The terrestrial is normally only in large cities where line of site of the satellite is not guaranteed. You will notice as you travel through tunnels in a city that most of the time you will not lose your signal.
I live just outside of Seattle. This is tree country and trips over to Redmond resulted in signal loss. In the city it is fine because of the terrestrial transmitter.
I suspect that your area is not covered by both the terrestrial and satellite. Ironic when XM claims it has better terrestrial coverage, but Sirrius has a better orbit for it's satellites. So pick your evil.
I have had both here in the NW and neither are perfect with guaranteed signal loss when going down a road with trees on each side. The reason why I did not renew my subscription is because of this issue. We're not talking country roads either. I'm talking Redmond Way off I405.
