After months of inquiring and asking everywhere -- from dealers to retailers -- the OEM carpet mats for the 6MT are either back-ordered or non-existent. When I say non-existent, I mean that retailers will tell me there they have no such product listed, yet they have plenty of carpets under the 5AT.

Then it hit me just now: ARE THEY IDENTICAL??? Here's one of my photos that show that the carpet doesn't seem to be affected by the clutch pedal, and that's really the only difference between the two models, correct?



I just wish I could verify this without going to the dealership. Anyone?

 

Visually, the carpet floormat does look the same at the ones I have in my 5AT.

On a side note, I just bought a pair of WeatherTech rubber mats for the front of mine and they did not offer an opinion for either 6MT or 5AT. They treated both as the same.

Confirmed: They are NOT identical. Ironically -- and maybe my dealer read my complaint on this forum -- after I posted this, I got an email from my dealer saying the carpet mats are here. $96 + tax.
