When To Charge Keyfob?

It is only to be used when your fob is out of battery.
you just replace it with a new battery when that happens (see ur manual 8-24)

My dealer told me, and I quote, "This spot right here is the charger for your fob. You stick it in and it charges the battery. You will need to do this every 3 years or so."
I am not joking. Of course, anyone can look at the fob and see that there is nothing to make a connection in order for it to charge, unless the Infiniti symbol itself is the thing that causes it to charge.
Was the dealer full of sh-t? Probably. But I was skeptical, and I figured that if anything in the fob did start to go bad, I would have asked about the battery when the time came.
I am not joking. Of course, anyone can look at the fob and see that there is nothing to make a connection in order for it to charge, unless the Infiniti symbol itself is the thing that causes it to charge.

that said, our fobs do NOT charge in the fob slot.

That slot is NOT a charger. However that slow will prevent the battery from draining anymore than it already is. Basicly it just holds the current charge that its on. Unfortunatly that is not very usefull because its not like the keyfob is in use constantly while the car is running that it needs to hold the current charge.
