Question :Recommendations on Maintenance Reminders

Hey there.

Just bought (leased actually) 2007 G35 Journey (Premium/graphite/graphite) and am reading my way through the owner's manual.

Does anyone know where I can find info on appropriate settings for the maintenance reminders, such as tires, oil, filter, etc? I know the basic rule of thumb for oil changes is 3k miles, but I don't know about oil and filter.

Also, how do you set those remindes exactly? I saw in the Info area of the in-dash monitor where I can put assign a mileage to a "reminder" but I didn't see where I label the reminder as "Change Oil", for instance.

Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to set those reminders for maintenance, or if not, where do you label the reminder.

Thanks

do these engines really need oil changes that frequently?
lexus engines only need them every 5000.

does anyone stretch the maintenance schedule for their car?

This schedule lists 7,500 miles or 6 months as the stated interval.

the premium maint schedule must cost a leg. All that stuff most people could do themselves.

it's good that they give a log sheet though to let you know what you should check. I don't remember lexus doing this.

I've always done my oil myself. Do you have to have "proof" of any sorts that you've followed the oil maintenance yourself?

If it is a lease, I would HIGHLY recommend you keep the dated filter receipts. They will likely never ask to see them, but if they do, things will go much easier.
