Official 2007 Infiniti G35 Negotiated Deal Thread
Went to a dealer today looking for a Journey+Premium+Nav+Wheels, black/black. I found a demo, Sport+Auto+Premium+Nav+4WS+Spoiler+Mud Flaps, black/black. I asked how much, first offer given was $37,250+TTL. It has about 2,200 miles, driven for about six months. The miles do not bother me. I think it sounds like a good deal, and I think I can get them down to $36,800. I put down a refundable deposit and they'll hold it for 48 hours while I sleep on it.
I'm pretty set on a Sport right now. If I don't go for this, I'll likely go for a Sport with just Prem+Nav, which I will be able to get for $1k over invoice (before negotiating), at $36,300.
Any thoughts? Is it worth paying invoice for a demo, or should I be paying below? I'm paying cash, which I didn't mention yet, and dealers are willing to deal more when its cash.

$36.8k is not too bad. I wouldn't do $37.2k since it has 2k miles. You should ask for $36.8k OTD

Anybody else buy a demo? This is why it's hard to judge if this a deal or not, because demos are just starting to be sold.

Finally ordered yesterday @ $900 under MSRP from Infiniti of Kirkland. There's no competition here so you can't do much but I'm happy.

Demos are risky because you know everyone drove it HARD during their test drive (the speed of the car is one of the biggest selling points, obviously). You never want to buy a car that's been driven/braked hard during the first 1200 miles. Heck, the first ANY miles, for that matter. Unless you're getting an amazing deal.
Austin Infiniti - 06.19.07
07 G35S 6MT - Premium, Nav, Splash Guards, Trunk Net
MSRP - $37,605 (or something like that)
Negotiated Price - $35,550
Money Factor - .002095
39 months @ $600 per month
$600 due at signing
I'm happy with that deal especially since it's the exact configuration I wanted and I searched the entire country for a 6MT and couldn't find an adequate replacement. Worked out to be a little over $1k over invoice which I was willing to pay after I exhausted myself for the search.
Austin Infiniti took a little finessing but when I told them I was ready to purchase immediately at that deal, they came through and within 30 minutes they had my credit app, and within 2 hours of them accepting I was driving the car.
My experience in dealing with so many online dealers was that you can't really negotiate until you're ready to purchase immediately. I wasn't getting the best rate when I was saying, "I'm purchasing next week" or "I'm purchasing once I sell my car."
I emailed them my offer 5 minutes after I sold my car, and things were quite smooth after that.
Love the car!

infiniti of lisle
As others have suggested, I went online and used Edmunds to get a price quote, most dealers did not want to e-mail me there quote but rather wanted me to come in for a test drive (yeah right). Anyway, I did receive a quote from infiniti of orland park for a sport/premium/nav/tech for 37+ttl (OTD for 40) but i did not like the color, I also received a quote from infiniti of lisle for an IP Sport/ graphite interior, Premium/NAV/ Splash guards, cargo net, for 36124 + ttl. OTD for 38.7. what do you guys think?

BTW - After I had the deal a bunch of other dealers (Houston and Dallas) who were stuck on MSRP were willing to negotiate - surprise, surprise!
Big problem I had was finding the car I wanted.
