Auto Lights need a delay

I am really frustrated with my automatic headlights. When I'm driving to work in the morning all I have to do is go under an overpass and my lights come on then go off seconds after I exit. People must be thinking I'm flashing them.

These lights are cycling off and on all the time. They should have some kind of delay before they come on to see if the darkness is only temporary. I'm now driving around most of the time with the lights in the off position. This is anoying!

Timer does not do what you think it does.
The auto headlights suck.

there is a sensitivity setting, although it really doesn't seem to do much.

MANUAL ftw! I manual-do everything. As a 6mt owner, I like to be in total control... 'cept for directions. I'll let that pretty lady's voice tell me what to do.

That's exactly why I don't use the auto headlights feature. The car is garaged both at home and at work. If I had that thing on auto the headlights would turn on every time, which would be pointless.

I figure the sensitivity ought to be speed dependent, taking into account the average light/dark eye recovery time and reflex reaction time as well. I mean the slower you go the more time you have to decide if the lights ought to be on or not. Crawling under an overpass should result in the lights not coming for several minutes below a minimum speed threshold or something.

I leave it on auto all the time and will probably pay for it in bulb replacement if not covered under warranty but I've got enough going on to keep track of every little thing, even something as trivial as this. I wouldn't mind automatic wipers either but I'm a picky bastid I guess...

Yep - and as you now know, you can only adjust sensitivity. Having the lights kicked on by overpasses etc. used to bother me. Then I realized, why do I care? I don't have to mess with them, if the Xenons burn out in the four years I'm likely to own the car, it's Infiniti's problem.

Infiniti should make a NAV update that has optional voices... They should include more computer voices as well as some celebrity voices (ex. Paris Hilton "Like go to like the like totally next light and then like make a right. I mean like a left. Totally") OK. No Celebrities.
