Passenger Airbag

I have recently seen the passenger side airbag turn off even when the seat is occupied by my wife. My wife is 110lbs so not sure why the airbag turns off. It is also not consistent. Has anyone else seen this issue or can anyone else shed some light on this?

I've noticed it too, my girl is the same weight, and it sometimes goes on when she is in the seat. no clue as to why it does it.

I've noticed this problem also. My girlfriend was kinda nervous when the airbag light went off while she was sitting in it. She actually asked me if the airbag wouldn't protect her if we were to crash at that moment... I didn't know what to say or how to explain it since that wacky light was flickering on and off in plain sight...

It'll be interesting to see what the answer is to this issue. Is it a defect or some kind of overly sensitive(insensitive) sensor? Please keep us posted!

My gf and I notice the same thing, too. She's around 105lb. Some times the light stays off, but most of the time it stays on. Never flickers though.

The manual says the passenger airbag is turned off to prevent small children from being injured from the airbag, and I guess petite women. =)

You'd really think that anything over 75 lbs should activate it...

I was under the same impression. I am also bothered by the consistency issue. If it deems the weight to be less, the airbag should remain off or on consistently and not turn on and off.

^^ so weight at rest/idle and not the changes induced by bouncing on the springs.
Makes sense to me...
Seems like Infiniti will need to address this one, especially since it's safety/airbag related.
