I am getting 13 to 14 by the end of the tank then i reset. I only have 400 miles on it and hope it gets better. I am shocked at all of these high numbers on this thread. I will be happy if i can average 18.

you guys are relying on the car computer? that thing sounds like it's calculating mileage by the second.

you guys with the 22+ miles/gal........ are you guys confirming your mileage by pencil & paper?

The computer could say any bullsh* and some people would believe it eh?

I'm about to hit my 3750 mark and I don't think I've been past 21mpg. Mostly freeway @ 75mph. The fuel economy meters seem to be fairly accurate, no reason to pay any attention to the instant mpg...who cares if I'm getting 35mpg going downhill for a mile and a half?

yeah.

OP, how many miles do you drive per day? that 27 mpg sounds like instant mpg.

Yeah, I am definitely seeing an increase in fuel economy. I am getting well over 600 KMs to a tank now.

what brand and octane are you guys with those good numbers using? I'm at 3800miles and was getting 16mpg until my oil change then it was 14+ *sigh* And all this time, it was on 93 Mobil/Shell.

I wonder if we have learnable fuel mapping logic in the Gs. Anyone knows how I can reset/restart the mapping?

^ I am using Shell v-power 91, which is the highest octane available in my area.

I only use Chevron 93 Octane with Techron, same as what I've used for my bimmer. I don't think I'd ever use anything less unless it was a desperate emergency.

maybe our problem is using 93? it seems like your first couple of tanks determines what u'll be ranging at... all those 20+mpg started off with 18. Mine is pretty close to yours... I started off around 13-14. Pure highway, Although I see 20, once I'm off the highway, its down to 18. One thing I did notice is that everytime I start the car before I go out, mpg drops 0.2.

i don't understand. you are quoting instant mpg.

you said you only get 14-16 mpg. yet the computer says 20-18.

who is right? are you doing your own calculations with total miles/total gallons purchased?

I haven't noticed any positive change in my milage since passing 3500mi. The problem here (In Texas) is that I'm now having to run the AC all the time. I also thought the Summer blends hurt milage, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

Same here, last tank I averaged 22.6, and that was 50/50 city/highway with 150 miles of mountain driving mixed in. I got just under 400 miles on a touch over 17 gallons. My distance to empty was 399 after I filled up, which is MUCH higher then it has been. I am at 8,000 miles I attribute the shot up in mileage to the blend gas we're seeing in my area, its no longer winter gas.
