Glad you are ok man.

You should have just pulled in front of him and slowed him down till he stopped.
I'd rather sit in traffic then have a sheet of steel fly through my windshield and chop my head off.

Give me the company name I'll dig up all the info for you (address, insurance company, phones and all the rest of the crap)

Good thing you and your GF are fine. Sounds like the other driver had no idea why you were flagging him down, so you probably shouldn't take it too personally that the driver didn't stop for a complete stranger, not knowing why he was getting waved at. I suppose it all depends on the area (I'm not familiar with the area you spoke about).

This story reminds me of another incident a few years ago. My brother and his wife were driving in a sedan and actually got hit by an 18 wheeler truck. It wasn't a major accident, but enough to badly dent the car. The driver had no idea that he had hit the car. I supposse if you're an 18 wheeler, it takes a lot to notice if you hit someone. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and my brother was able to signal the trucker to stop, which, fortunately, he did.
He apologized and said he had no idea he had hit the car. His insurance (or maybe at least him - don't recall if he wanted his insurance involved) covered the damage.

thanx for the support n kind words guys.
i called my insurance up this afternoon and there close today so ill have to wait until monday.

this is my first accident in almost 10 years of driving, not too knowlegable of what to do here or what i can get out of it.
by no means im greedy, i do however need a car/loaner to drive because this is my daily driver to work. do you think i can at lease qualify for it?
and how about deminish(sp?) value? i ask because it really does suck when you have a 2 month old car and its been damage, it hurts me alot to see my car being repair. after its fix i'll still have this thought in my head my car has been hit n repair before. im sure of you are in the same page as me.

lastly does anyone know which dealer in socal does the best job repairing this? thanx everybody

In terms of renting a car, it depends on your insurance company. I pay extra on top of my premium to be able to get a rental car in case my car is in an accident.

it looks like it's just superficial damage. a body shop should be able to fix it up like brand new.

if your insurance company can't get them to pay, and they hike your premium, sue the bitches in small claims court.

you should've also taken a cell phone picture of the truck.

Longo toyota collision repair center should do a good job fixing it. I think they fix all brands of cars. they also have a lifetime warranty on their repair.
