Too much pain to get this mirror but it was worth it.

Interesting idea, but when properly adjusted, the normal mirror should be adequate.
Set driver's mirror:
-lean your head well toward the driver's window (until nearly touching the glass)
-adjust mirror until you can just see the side of your car in the lower right corner of the mirror
-adjust vertically until horizon line splits mirror
Set passenger mirror:
-lean similar distance toward center of car as in above step
-adjust mirror until you can just see the side of the car in the lower left corner of the mirror
-horizon line splits the mirror
Set center mirror:
-frame rear window in center of mirror, view is straight back
Test (preferably in city traffic where cars are passing both sides, or while parked):
-without moving your head, observe vehicles as they pass
-they will be first seen in the center mirror, then as they pass will begin to be seen in the side mirror
-as they leave the view of the side mirror your peripheral vision should detect the car.
These settings take a bit of getting used to, so use caution until familliar but they practically eliminate blind spots and shoulder checking becomes more of a double-check than a necessity.

Surprisingly, the G35 mirrors need to be at the maximum outward setting on the driver's side to achieve the proper setting.
