Exclamation Trunk design flaw?

I have had my G35x for just over a month now and noticed that water that has accumulated on the trunk after some rain tends to fall into the trunk when opened...most of the water drains to the rear windshield but not all...this to me is kinda surprising given the attention to detail elsewhere in the car...anyone else notice this?

On my 03 coupe i have the same problem, but does yours have a lot of water falling into the trunk or just some drops? I would say a little water here and there is normal, if its like a gallon...well then something is wrong.

small annoyance indeed

thanks, you are right, it is a small annoyance, but not something I would expect out of a design that has thought about almost every little detail...overall, it is a dream to drive of course, even with the small annoyance!

I have the same problem with mine. It has been that way with every car I have had.

I haven't noticed that problem with the trunk, but I did notice that when you open it via remote it doesn't "pop up" as high as my wife's 05 Altima. I understand it's just supposed to open the trunk but it would help to have it a little bit higher when you've got bags of groceries - so it would be convenient not having to lift the trunk lid if it's already semi-open. It's a small annoyance to me - but oh well.

Exactly what I noticed compared to our '05 Altima SE-R 6MT.

Ok, it was not the same with my '99 Maxima ES...not a drop of water in the trunk when it was opened, everything rolled into a catch sill and drained out the sides...and unfortunately, that is the only comparison I can make...with any other car, I would have been less annoyed but where every detail has been looked after, this one seems to be an oversight...agree about the trunk not popping up higher, it probably is a safety issue as you don't wan't it to pop-up accidentally...cheers

Same problem. Never noticed it on my other cars, or the dozens upon dozens of different car models I have rented over the years.
It just feels like water comes pouring in.

the water thing doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that the stupid trunk doesn't pop up on it's own. Arm load of groceries, hit the remote trunk button on my key and my IS300s trunked popped all the way up most of time.
