Got my car back

with a brand new ECM. Service manager said that when he called Nissan tech and told them the problem, they said "Wow, we've got a winner. Don't even try to touch the ECM, we're sending a new one."

Car feels much, much better. Shifts smoother, brakes better, i'm not fighting the car anymore.

Ahhhh, it feels like i just drove it off the lot... at almost 10000 miles.

startup - never had a problem

leak - they never found it. i guess i cant open my sunroof to vent in the rain. they still say you aren't supposed to. but what the hell else is it for? and i've never heard of any other car having water come in because the sunroof is open to vent.

they tried telling me that the car sucks air in if the roof is set to vent, but i never got wet. only got the leak problem.

next time it rains on a weekday, i'm popping the roof to vent and driving to the dealer.

Hang your arm out the window too... then show them how wet it gets!

Not sure why you're opening your sunroof in the rain to vent (even tilted open). Do you eat a lot of burritos?

no, occasionally smoke, and i don't run the ac unless it's over 75; otherwise the wind is enough.

question: when you pop the sunroof, is air escaping or being pushed in? i think it escapes, but i've been told otherwise.

and keep in mind, me, my gf, nothing visible under the sunroof gets even a drop of water on it when it's vented and raining, even at 70mph. so if nothing comes in then, i dont think anythig is ever going to come in. i guess the drains might be bad.

LOL> Ok - I get it.
I'm wondering if the drain's capacity is being overloaded by allowing that extra water in via the sunroof drains - assuming thay all converge at the bottom of the pillar. Just a thought.

yeah, that's my guess too. im just glad my car is back. loaner had no nav or SOW.

by the way, there is WAY more room under the dash with the power steering column as opposed to manual adjustment.
