Feeling safe awhile driving your G fast
Maybe it's only me or also maybe it's because i haven't lowered my car yet; however, when i'm driving over 120mph in my G35s im feeling alittle unsure of my car's handling. In my 2000 CLK 430 benz i felt much safer at the higher speeds. (It was heavier also). Does your G feel lite in the rear. Any comments.

infiniti claims zero lift aerodynamics front and rear if you have the rear spoiler. i don't think what you're feeling is an aero effect.
what i do think you're feeling is underdamped suspension. i feel it too.

It's a little squirrelly around the corners, so I wonder if a better sway bar or a strut bar would help.
And I have a 2002 CLK as well and it sure feels more planted at speeds. It's probably just because the car is heavier or because it has a lower center of gravity being a coupe.

If I were going that fast, the car's handling is probably the least of other worries.

I will say that the rear end is squirrely around turns though, may swap out the tires.

I bet the road surface has a lot to do with it too....
Some recently resurfaced freeway areas around LA feel like butta - others like the 210 heading east feel like a bucking bronco.

I must say the car handles beautifully. I of course am lowered, which did make a difference IMO. High speeds seem to dart in and out without a real concern. Haven't had the car up to 120, maybe 110, but still loving the feel of the road.

I know it's a serious crime etc for speeding but I really want to know my car's potential. I can get to 120mph at a blink of and eye and have ALL eye's on me. It's faster off the line and handles is better than the Clk 430. (That's what sold me plus cheaper) The part of Hwy 95 where I live has sportbike's going 180mph EVERYDAY (actually i was in the pack that day)
Anyway is lowering the answer? I'm mostly worried about alignment issues after lowering

Understood. Sorry to my fellow forum members and the general public for my foolish act / behavior. P.S i'm been driving for 25 years i'm 42 years old. I would never risk my life most of ALL or anyone elses... I was passing school buses in the 12th grade in a 911 targa.
But back to the "subject" - so lowering is the key.

I'd suggest you base you questions on a visit to a proper track or facility that is setup for this kind of activity, thereby inferring that it is on the track that this should be done and not on the street.
For you to drive that way on the street or anywhere else is in fact risking your life along with other innocents.
Please refrain from such posts whether it's street racing or any kind of high speed and illegal driving anywhere off track.
Colin.
