Tally of how many people have problems with their manual transmissions

This post is really just to get a bearing on one specific issue; clunking or crunching manual transmissions. Please don't add any other problems that you may have. This post is really just a gauge to see how common this syncronizer problem is that causes a clunk, or crunch when shifting.

With that said, I'm on transmission number two and it is doing the same thing as the original, that is second gear clunks until it is thouroughly warmed up. Sometimes, it manages to crunch/grind into gear. All of the other gears work as promised, in the sense that they have smooth and quiet engagement.

If you have a manual, just vote!

Thanks,
Chris

My 6-speed is a little notchy going from 1st to 2nd. All other gears are fine. Once its warmed up, it's much smoother. I'm considering changing the gear oil. Joel

Has anyone changed their tranny oil? I wouldn't mind switching to Redline. I did it for my Mazda6, and BOY was it nice. And it helps to keep the tranny lasting a long, long time, too. That's probably the only engine-related mod I'll do to my beautiful-even-at-stock G.

I would, but don't want Infiniti to be able to point to something that I did and say that is what caused it. That would be an uphill battle in court if it came down to that.
