Complaints about the nav/music system

1. the screen and headlights are too linked. there are things called sunshowers, and it's hard to see the nav screen with sunglasses on and it's black. (to explain, in NJ wipers on/lights on is a law, and i've had cops bother me about it before)

2. the sorting and recall systems suck. i dont want to scroll through tons of songs to find the album i want to hear.

3. 9.5 gigs ain't big enough!

the sound is awesome, and i love the layout of the buttons and appearance of the screen, but its the little things that get me.

I think for the class the car is in and the price we paid, the system is great. At times when im scrolling around and just looking at different options i am more impressed than dissatisfied. I understand what you meant by the glare. And the software for music box could be better, also i would have liked more color schemes and options to put your own back ground, but then again that might be pushing it.

I have used alot of Navi systems on alot of other Brand cars and none match Infiniti/Nissan.

In conclusion i think i got a lot more than i was expecting.

1. The scrolling/search feature takes forever and is a PITA if you are moving.

2. Too many CD's don't come up in the database (yeah I know I can fix it but it's a PITA and I can't believe there are this many missing)

3. The NAV is nuts regarding nearby restaurants. It shows a couple of places near our house that have been closed more than 10 years!

4. It sounds like crap. I would love to have the MB and so forth without the damn BOSE piece of poo amp.

Hit the brightness button to the right of "INFO' button to go from Auto to Max brightness.

1 - Too little attention was paid to the software implementation when they released the SOW. This seems like exactly what people accuse Microsoft of, rushing a product to market without really testing the bugs in a piece of software. It seems like they got all wrapped around the axle about having an HD based music system and maybe people would think it was so cool they would ignore the crapola software they built. I've made numerous posts about this, the burn/rip process and the absolutely ridiculous CF reader/sorting software. Just absolute junk IMO.

Infiniti would do themselves wonders to release an update for this, which shouldnt be that hard given how the system is built. But of course they wont and in 2009 they will release a completely new software package that we will be left without.

2 - Thats it, see #1.
