well, i'm not saying it should sound like a V8. I'm saying there are V6's out there that sound AMAZING in comparison... the current-gen TL, for example has a much more pleasing (albeit quieter) engine sound than the G does. I've had both cars, so I'm speaking from personal experience. The TL motor sounds more like a well-tuned race motor.

Honestly, the coupe/Z/FX exhaust note to me sounds like a riced-up V6 (like the way four-bangers sound with those ridiculous coffee cans attached to their butts).

I've always loved the sound of a high-revving v6. I loved the sound of my old Chrysler 300M. I loved the sound of my 04 5AT g35 sedan, and my current 05 6MT. But - I really don't like the way the engine sounds on Cheryl's 07. It's very rough. Surprisingly so. It reminds me of my best friend's wife's 6 Mustang GT. IT just doesn't fit in line with the rest of the car.

Here's a bit of irony for you - the reason that Trey *doesn't* like the sound of the '07 is exactly what I do like about the car. My only issue is that it is too quiet. I plan on ripping out the resonators but I hesitate until I can hear someone else's after that has been done. lol That's a PITA to do just to find out that you don't like the change it makes.

Out of all the forums I'm involved in, the majority completely love the sound of the Coupe. Believe it or not, most of the mustang drivers over at a mustang forum I belong to also adore the sound of our V6's.

And a few also hate it; they get irritated by it.

But out of all these comments, I have never heard anyone call the Coupe's note as "rice".

It's alright though; you definately don't seem to sporty type. If you love the quietness of the 07 Sedan and Acura TL, than that explains enough.

Also, the Coupe's exhaust note is louder, which gives the impression of a quieter engine. In reality, all of the current VQ35's have a very similar, if not same, tone & volume to it.

Nothing against your personal opinion. But calling the Coupe's note ricey, only because it sounds sporty (and obviously louder) is plain dumb.

PS. A load exhaust does not mean its rice.

pot calling the kettle black eh?

you don't know smack about me and what i like... and your guesses are waaaay off.

i like sporty. i like loud. i ride a ducati that's L O U D. I love it. it sounds beautiful. my 300ZXtt that put out 420+ HP was loud. they both had/have a lovely sound quality to them.

So was my 240SX with borla exhaust, but that sounded like **** because of the exhaust note. and it droned at certain frequencies. i hate that because it's unrefined. it's fine in a race car, but these are street cars.

What i don't like about the G coupe isn't the loudness. it's not that loud. it's the sound quality. it's boring. it drones. it doesn't have any ENGINE character. it just goes brrrrraaaaawr and that's it. dull. kaput.

and your last sentence was hilarious... any sentence that begins with "nothing against...." usually ends in a blatant internal contradiction. thank you for not disappointing!

Personal attacks "eh"?

I'm not going to bother; im not like you internet tough guys.

My post was not to be taken offensive. But you knew that calling the Coupe's exhaust tone "Ricey" and comparing to a "4-bangers coffee can" was going to bring contradiction.

Hey, to each their own. If you like being unique, then so be it.

most comments ive heard from people about the coupe"s note is that it sounds exotic... it may be ricey to Altersys but I still love it... even on Z's FX's and M's.

I LOVE the coupe tone, its so unique. I met up with some local coupes a couple of weeks back for a little show and followed them to a local watering hole afterwards and just kept on admiring the sound. I think it has a very electronic(ish) air flow sound. Its like what you hear is the whistle/humming of the air flow more so than the engine noise/growl- thats just how I describe it... I LOVE and MISS IT!!

My sedan sounds like crap when I first take off until it warms up, sounds like a can full of rocks being shaken...

What's up ur a$$ dude? This thread was not meant to bash on the nice sound of the coupe. It was actually made for people who love it and if they think the 07 sedan has a similar sound. I think the 07 sedan's engine sounds crappy when I have my front window open so I much rather hear the nice sound of the coupe on it than the engine sound.
