Does our exhaust note sound like the coupe?
i personally love the sound the coupe makes...no other car out there (especially for the price) has a sound anything like that. I do understand what he means though in terms of the engine sound. Before i had any intake on the car, at WOT the engine didnt really have the nicest sound on the inside of the car. The exhuast sounded great on my coupe but the engine does have a slightly boring sound to it. Then again, stock...most do.
The thing that bugs me most about the sound of the *current* coupe' (not that I've heard a new '08 coupe) it that it is a bit, well, buzzy.
I've heard a Altima SE-R with just Magnaflows on the back, and it does sound abit better than the coupe with similar setup.
It's more of a V6 sound than buzz, it's hard to describe since that SE-R was driving away from me before I could get my phone out to click off a vid.

Alright guys, what the hell? First of all, it's kinda stupid to say someone's opinion is stupid - it's their *opinion*. DUH! There is absolutely NO reason for this to get to ANY kind of smacks back and forth. Grow up people!

I know what they sound like, hun.
Read what I posted through the thread - I'm certainly not knocking the coupe exhaust - just the '07 sedan exhaust (or lack thereof)
Trey doesn't have a coupe and he also has a pretty good bit of further exhaust work done so it is not the same thing.

yeaa the sedan def lost all its sound.. you can still hear it but it dont sound like a g35 coupe or fx.. it lost its infiniti sound when u push it all you hearr is u pushing ur car, ima order a g37 supposilyy the ones they seen on the highway purred so i dont have to worry bout that. =)
Yeah... to all the coupe exhaust note haters... I guess you have never heard some of the stock exhaust notes coming out high end sports cars. Ours is tame by comparison, and definately does not sound artificial. It is distinct, and perfectly tuned in my opinion.
Every fart can strapped to a Neon or civic sounds the same, but the coupe and FX exhaust is unmistakable. You can make any car sound like mustang with the right exhaust. Never heard anyone replicate the coupe...

I also love the exhaust note on the coupes, its unmistakable and extremely unique.
At low RPM's the exhaust note on our cars is decent, not too intruding. In comparison to the 335i and IS350 I test drove, this one had the best exhaust note.

IMO of course.

Strange that there's so much discussion about engine sound. I suppose I don't really care what a car sounds like so long as it performs. I just got my sedan and it indeed is quiet as a mouse, particularly at an idle. The other day I parked the car to go into a restaurant and when I hit the remote to lock it, the horn didn't beep. Went back and found that I walked off leaving the engine running without noticing.
Truthfully, I don't think any 3.5L is going to sound that scary no matter how loud it is. But if you like the sound of your car, enjoy it and be happy.
