Free Carwash From Dealer

This is my first Infiniti, do all Infiniti dealers offer free car washes whenever you want? I have had both a Mercedes and a Volvo and neither dealer offered this. Just went by today to Ray Catena in Bridgewater NJ (where I bought the car) to try out the car wash and it was great. Drop the keys, sit in the Cafe/Lounge, read the paper, drink some coffee and 15 minutes later my keys are returned and the car looks great.

This may be one of the best parts of my new X, I estimate this will save me about $60 to $100 a month in car wash fees (don't always have time, or the weather to do it myself).

My dealer actually does a pretty good job... guess it depends on where you are - but yes, all dealers do offer it.
I know someone who stops by for just a free wash.. talk about lazy. OOPS - I guess that's YOU!!! LOL.

Just out of curiousity who do you think prepped your car?

Regarding the quality of the wash it was as good as the local brushless car wash. They actually have a motionless/brushless automatic wash at my dealer, so they pull the car into it, it gets washed and they pull it out and dry it.

Regarding lazy, possibly, I tend to view it more as priorities...

I actually dont trust my dealer in washing my car after a service. Everytime I take in the car for service, my service advisor knows to not wash my car. When I first let them do it, the car would come back with dirt still towards the bottom. In other words not washed 100%, more like 80% & for that I take it home and wash it myself & do a great job.

That is nice, but I agree with the comments above; the only person who washes my car is me, with lots of high-end Zaino stuff. And it looks great.

Yes they do the car wash if you are brave enough to risk it. I will personally beat someone if they touch my car at the dealership. I didn't even let them take the plastic off the car or anything. My '04 they put horrible swirl marks in so they can't touch this one.

NEVER!!! I made SUCH a big deal before bringing my car in for my first complimentary maintenance that, the weekend before, they made keychain badges that read, in big, bold letters, NO WASH (even in Spanish on the reverse side). And the Service Rep put it on the invoice, too, right above the free rental. They said a lot of people request to not have their cars washed, so they finally took action.

Go home, invest in a day of Zaino (or your favorite detailing products), a six pack, and enjoy your hard work.

I doubt you can get a free car wash whenever you want. Its subjective to each dealer ship.

When i drop my G off for service i always tell them NOT to wash my car. I dont want some punk kid touching my G either. Besides i think the Dealership has a deal with Gas station across the street to use their car wash. The other day i was at that gas station pumping gas and i saw their whole operation. The operation consisted of a few wetbacks in the actual car wash all using the same scrub to go and scrub your car as the car wash does its thing. Then they go out and use the same old rags on the same cars day in and day out to dry it. I was sooo surprised when i saw them re using the same scrub to wash all the bodies/wheels. I am a firm believer that you need to use the right brushes in order to not get scratches.

I guess i have an issue with people touching my darling in that kind of way other than me

At least the dealership I bought my car from, the car washers and new car preppers are two seperate entities. Buy a car brand new, and someone washes and waxes it by hand and are under the scrutiny of the customer to deliver a flawless product.

Go in for service, and they take the car through a loop in an automatic car wash which uses the same dirty brushes and recycled water and soap day after day.

No thanks, I'll do it myself from here on in.
