Hello,

I have put on about 1400 kms (~870 miles) on my new car and have noticed that if I drive above 60 km/h (~40 mph) I hear a some wind noise around the middle of the drivers side window. All other windows are quiet. I have tested on different roads, different weather conditions (windy & calm) and still get the same results.

Is this normal for a car of this type? Should I take it to the dealer for new weather stripping? It's not loud at all but it's just there.

Thanks,
Tom

There's a bulletin for the rear driver's side door - but I haven't heard anything about the driver's door...
I'd demonstrate it to the dealer.

I don't have this issue, and haven't heard about it - BUT, is your weatherstripping coming loose?

Visually everything looks to be intact.

The question was posed becauseI would like to know if these cars should be super quiet or if everyone else gets a little bit of unwanted wind noise when driving at higher speeds.

I have the same wind noise. Noticeable above 45 mph.

Check out this older thread. https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v36-2007-08/156227-g35x-wind-noise.html.

The dealer re-installed my left rear weather stripping, but the wind noise is still there. I am going to go back to the dealer to test drive another 6MT to see if it is normal. My suspicion is that the wind noise is normal. After all, the 6MT is not a Lexus.

Mine's only noticeable at 60+mph. I just drove 400 miles to Phoenix from California (I'm at a motel now), and I did notice some wind noise from driver side window, although wasn't too severe.

Yup, same here. It feels like the window is slightly opened.

Same here. I have only 600 miles on it and I will be discussing with the dealer soon.

I have an appt scheduled on Wednesday. A friend of mine told me that they have a tool that aligns the door a bit so as to create a better seal on top. I can see them maybe doing something like that in my scenario since the stripping I have visually looks good.

I have the same very faint wind noise on the driver side window above 50 mph. I will be adding this to my list for the dealer to look at. I hate to be so picky, but I dropped some serious coin on this car, I expect it to be right.

Just got back from dealer...
I had to take the shop manager with me for a spin just now so he could listen to the faint wind noise I got and he figures its the seal around the window thats making the trouble and that they will probably need to replace that. We lowered the window a mm and it seemed to make a bit of a difference. The main weather stripping around the door is in great shape so they ruled that out. They also aligned the door a bit and it was still there. So in the end I have to book a follow-up appt. to get it taken car of.

Did you ever get your wind noise problem fixed? I have it on my car, starting at around 55 mph. I have not had it looked at by the dealer yet, but it's really annoying.
