Protect it for who? is a better questions. Why not enjoy your car as is. The steering wheel rocks.

If you cover it you are getting the next best thing for your own use just so it can be removed for the next owner to enjoy a brand new steering wheel.

That's like putting a vinyl slip cover on your new sofa because you want to protect it. It's meant to be used. Enjoy!

Over the years, all of my sneezing has produced a nice protective mucus coating on my steering wheel. Hey it protects your insides why not your steering wheel too.

I have never had this problem in any of the cars I've owned even after years and years. Just wipe down the interior of your vehicle after every car wash with a damp cloth - use the same cloth or chamois you use to dry the car. The steering wheel will always be pristine and clean...

Unless you work in construction or as a plumber in which case you should not be driving your G35 to a jobsite anyway.

Personally, I would NEVER use anything on the steering wheel other than wiping it down with a slightly damp cloth as I'd be concerned about making it too slippery. Some conditioners will not absorb well or takes a long time to absorb and you end up with an unsafe/slippery steering wheel.

On my Honda Accord, only 1 O'clock position of the steering wheel got worn because I usually only drive with my left hand.

I hope the leather doesn't do that.
