The only decent interiors by GM are probably made my the Saturn line and the Cadillac line. I was looking on the Saab website, that thing has the UGLIEST interior

Please keep this thread on track, as this is about the G35 interior.

Even the E350 4Matic that we were looking at didn't have as nice of an interior as the G!
I have to agree that the new interior is great but must say that new E classes still trump it. While the G35 is great for a sport sedan, I think Mercedes interiors still set the standard for luxury and comfort.

Really? I haven't sampled a W221 yet but a friend of mine who owns a W220 S430 let me drive her car once. Yah it was nice, but not Audi A8 nice. My Uncle also owns a W215 CL500 and while it's a very nice car, once again the interior isn't anything to really rave about from a design standpoint. The W209 CLK350 I drove wasn't anything too spectacular inside either. I've also driven a handful of W203s (C230 Kompressor, C320 and a C230 Kompressor Hatch). The 230 Kompressor Sedan and the 230 Kompressor Hatch were both '05s and had updated (over the earlier '02 C320 I drove) interiors which had much slicker looking gauge clusters, but again the dash was cluttered with too many buttons. If any automaker sets the standard in terms of interior design, it's VW/Audi. The A6 and A8 have some of the slickest looking interiors on the market.

In all honesty (and I'm not just sayin this because I drive a G35), I think the interiors of our '07 Sedans are some of the cleanest looking and easy to use designs on the market.

True... the E-class that we were looking at was pretty nice.

The interior that we were going to get looked like this, only without the AMG badges on the gauges (It was an E350 sport)

That vs G35 interior? Pretty tough descision for me, they're both pretty nice.

Have you all taken a look at the conference/show program on autointeriors.com:
http://www.autointeriors.com/AutoInt..._2007_RevD.pdf

Page 3 lists the finalists. The G35 was up against some nice vehicles. I don't get why the MKZ won the industry vote . It is unique, but too many straight lines for me. Looks like an 80's interior with some updated parts and trim added.

^^ I really don't like the MKZ. I used to like the Navigators, but now I can't stand looking at one, it's hideous (IMO)

^ I think that that award would go to the Infiniti M, the one that we sat in in the dealership was nicer than the G's rear armrest.

the M is nice too but it doesnt have washi :P

the MB has button overload, and the plood look isnt my thing.

also i rode in a z06 the other day, man the interior is funky plastic 80s heaven, not too mention things like the cupholder opens its lid towards the driver, obstructing itself, and the armrest feels like it might rip off when opened...not even in the same continent as the G.

hands down the G has the best interior in a car i mean come on what other car has 4 cupholders for the front 2 occupants ?

I don't have the washi. I think the rosewood looks much better. It gives off a more luxurious feel...

^

IMO, Rosewood looks great.

However, I went with the Aluminum as I felt that it gave the car a "Sportier" feel.
