Angry Got a damn scratch a week after i bought the car *pic*

I was driving on a highway and i was passing this F-250 in the left lane. As i was passing him, a piece of metal flew from his tire and hit my front bumper and my headlight. Ive been trying to be so careful all week and this **** happens. Well do you guys think its going to cost me alot to get it fixed? Its a little deep but not too much. Anything i could do myself to fix this?

oh man, I am soo sorry my friend. I believe those scratches are too deep to fix by yourself... unless you own a body shop. My advice would be to use this as an excuse to go aftermarket, or go to a body shop..

and in the future, watch out for bros

Wow..looks pretty deep. Get some repair quotes or try the following site.

www.paintscratch.com

I've found their products to be very helpful in the past. They have guaranteed paint color matching for their pens and can sprays. Good luck

CR@P!!!!
Looks too deep for a do-it-yourself... that bumper plastic can be tricky to work with.
I'd say take it in to a good shop.

Sorry about your car. Definitely needs more than just paint from those pictures. If you are like me it will bug you to no end until you have it repaired (or fix it yourself). Here is a good site that outlines how to repair this type of damage yourself if you are so inclined.:

I personally would take it to a body shop and have them repair it, probably cost about $100-$150 depending on where you live. Good luck.

if it makes you feel any better, my car got keyed from the front fender to the rear fender. ****ing punkass kids. I'm gonna try to touchup/wetsand/clear it and buff it myself before going to the bodyshop... what do I have to lose really?

i would find those little punk *** kids and beat some ***. Seriously, theres no need to mess with someones car. Im so afraid of this happening to my car. It happened to me with my maxima and wasnt cheap to fix. I always park my car far from other cars and if im going to walmart or any store, i take my maxima.

But thanks for all the suggestions guys. Ill take it to a shop and see what they say. Might take it to Infiniti and see if they'll fix it up for me for free.

i would live with it also. try mcguire scratch-x or similar products, and then use the nissan touch-up paint. that may mask it to the point that only you would be able to tell.

murphy's law say that as soon as you replace it, something else will happen to the front bumper.

I was thinking the same. That's not THAT bad, and it's on the plastic bumper. No need to worry about rust, and the bumper is going to get dinged.

Then again, I got rear ended after a week and a half of ownership and after that, nothing quite fazes me anymore. I would be pretty pissed if someone keyed my car front to back though.

ouch.

that sucks. only a repair/repaint will fix that. if you do go that route, clearbra it after it's cured.

It doesn't look that bad at all; don't sweat it.. It's only going to get worse as time goes by
