At the top of the windshield, right beside the mirror. The thing I don't like about behind-the-mirror is it's then obvious to the passenger (unless you actually stick it TO the back of the mirror, don't know how it would read there). This way it's basically invisible from outside the car, and doesn't bother me inside.

Since
1. I don't like any foreign object attached to the windshield and
2. We don't take both cars on our tollways at the same time

...I keep our box style unit on the dashboard where it meets with the windshield. Those vent openings are perfect to keep it from sliding across.

My $0.02.

I keep mine in the sunglass holder. I take it out real quick when I have to use it and then I put it right back up in there and close it up. In my old car I kept it in the glove box but this is much easier.

Same here. Mine is secured by these Velcro-like strips, so it can be taken off easily. Of course the other half of the strips are still stuck to the windshield, but those are somewhat permanent as long as I have the EZ-pass. BTW, I'm in PA...PA/MD/DE/NJ area.

I like this idea, have you ever tried leaving it in to see if it works from within the holder?

I used to have it in my center console, and would just place it up near windshield when going thru the toll. But after a few times of forgetting to manually put up near the windshield and triggering the alarm, its now attached permanently with the provided velcro strips. I was probably daydreaming or something. Save yourself the hassle and just enjoy cruising thru the EZPass/SmartTag lanes.

Nope, I havent tried it. I dont go through tolls very often though so the next time I have a chance to check might be a while.
