I have to disagree with you on the G being more for the road course than the drag strip though - I think it is like most cars where it is equally good on either with the proper set up.
A proper setup would not have IRS. I'm talking about the car in general.. anything can be modified.. but I can think of many better choices than the G for the strip.
Actually.. I don't think it's that good a road course car either.. too bulky and heavy..
more of a capable comfortable cruiser for the street.. a sophisticated hotrod..

This is true as well, however, I don't think it does too badly at either considering it is also the daily driver grocery getter.

I've seen in some thread that the ECU cuts rpm if u exceed some limit (sorry - can't remember details) ... I *think* <3k should be fine ... but I can't test my theory !
What I did was I braked, brought the RPMs up, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2200 and the car started spinning rears, I brought it up more and @ 2500RPM the car went to a COMPLETE idle, my foor was on the gas full, no RPMs, I lifted, pressed again, it would go to 1200 and stay... after 5-6 second, I could get the car going.

On the other hand, I have left tire marks with it for almost 3/4 of 1st gear, that is if I let go of the gas right when the wheels start spinning (seems like as long as speed is not 0, the spinning is allowed with VDC off).

similar thing happend to me in my 6mt coupe. I tried to do a little heal-toe hold the brake burn out, but once i poped off the clutch and went on the brake the rpms just dropped. I have a feeling if you pull the abs fuse that this will be cured. Either that or the vdc fuse.

I've heard that the problem is keeping the brake on - the G won't do that unless you pull the ABS fuse (and why would you want to do that?). However, the one time I tried it, I found that if you power brake up to about 3k (I just basically floored it and let off the brake after about a second), ABS won't kick in because the brake is off.
