Dealer and Low air pressure warning

My low air warning light comes on this morning. I call service department and see if I can stop by and let them fill it up.
They ask me why don't I check and fill up at a gas station, why bother and waste time coming to the dealership ???

I say because it has nitrogen and I want to fill it up with nitrogen as my salesman told me when I first bought it.

He asked me are you sure it has nitrogen? Did I put it in?
And definitely they don't have nitrogen at their facility.

sounds like the salesman bs'd you. btw air is 79% nitrogen. you could go to firestone or similar, but it's not goin to make a big difference.

Nitrogen will make a difference in the winter mostly because the molecules are bigger, it will not leak out as much. It gives it a constant pressure whereas just air you will need to top it up more.

My salesman didnt say anything about it, so I think they just use normal air. You usually pay for a nitrogen fill at tire places.

Sounds like they might have BS'd you though... call the sales guy and find out what's up, esp if they charged you extra for that...

My dealer, Grubbs, filled our tires with Nitrogen. Tires have a green valve stem cap and there are stickers on doors saying Nitrogen filled tires. They gave me a kit box that they used for the system. It also has a tire gauge and all in it. All their cars are done this way.

I keep thinking low air warning light means "low" air pressure, but it's not. The light is on when pressure is out of range, either too low or too high.

All four tires were a bit above 40 yesterday. I let out a bit air and the warning is gone. I blame the summer temperature.

we have nitrogen at the dealership but it's a special kit so no one will just fill regular air into your tires. i would just drive to the dealership and have them fix that for you
