Dealer Service Cost

I read in another thread that owners are paying $120+ for 2nd scheduled service (i.e., oil change and tire balance/rotation). I know this can be done cheaper elsewhere, but is this the kind of $$ you guys are seeing at your dealers? Is there anything about the 07 G that warrants $pecial $ervice?

The dealer in Calgary charges approximately $130-$140 for second service, I elected to skip it and just get an oil change at a Nissan dealer as their schedule works better for me (open Saturdays).

For Sport models, there is no rotation either.
So Sport should be cheaper compared to other models .... but I'm quite sure that won't be the case - the pricing would probably be the same.

I think ~ 120+ for an oil change is way too much -- Dino/Syn not withstanding

It all depends on what you go in and ask for. The first time we took our '04 into the dealer we just asked for the 3750 service. We picked it up and it was $90. The next time I took it in I told them I wanted the oil changed and the tires rotated and it was about $50. They charge out the *** for looking at a bunch of stuff that you can look at yourself if you have a clue what you're doing.

Believe I just paid $185 for the 2nd service with Mobil 1 which added @$35 to the price. Dealer is a half mile from my office and has been giving me great service on two vehicles for a while now so price really isnt an issue.

What happens at the end of the lease if you havent taken it in for any of the services(besides oil change of course)? Do they penalize you and make you pay a fee or something?

Reminds me why I decided to pass up on CPO cars (typically lease returns)

I was told that tire rotation makes no difference to the price because they have to remove the wheels when checking the brake system anyways.

Well if you notice there are several service "schedules". You can use Premium Service, Schedule 1 and Schedule 2. They aren't related to how you use the car - the intervals are related to the driving conditions - so as long as you do the services with the dealer as stated in the manual I would assume you were fine. We paid full price for the big services at 15K miles and 30K miles, etc. but I'm not paying $90 for an oil change.

When I returned my Accord a few months back,
I was charged for not having the tire replaced.
Charged me $100 for 1 tire.

I had a 1,000 mile left, but they didn't give me back my money for mileage.
Not that I was expecting a money back. I just thought it was unfair.

BTW, I did not have any of the recommended services done,
besides the oil change during my 3 year lease term.
