My G is one of those 4,425 sold in June. Easy to see why they're selling so well.

WTF? Infiniti isn't upgrading any of the engines in the M35/45 or FX35/45? I can't believe they're still using the OLD VQ35DE and not the VQ35HR much less the VQ37VHR motor.

Does it make sense for Infinitis to be equipped with 3 different versions of the VQ engine with their heaviest and most expensive V6 equipped models using the oldest, least efficient, and lowest powered engines while the 2 cheapest Infinitis get the 306 hp HR motors?

good news for Infiniti. It also shows how bad the old G35 sedan was doing. meanwhile, sales of IS250/350 and TL still beat G35.

do you think it makes sense to change the motors in vehicles that wont even be around in a year or two? 2008 is the last production year for the current gen FX35, why would they bother swapping the motors? putting the VQ37VHR in the M35 will cause a similar effect that lexus did when they had the GS350 and GS430. a V8 thats a lot more expensive than the V6 which will only provide gains that are not worth the price difference.

also i am somewhat disappointed seeing how few units Infiniti sells. by selling only 10,000 units it shows they are in no shape to even try competing with Lexus or BMW who are both in a higher $$ range selling more units. seems like they are chasing Acura these days

I'm not so sure Infiniti needs to sell as many vehicles as BMW or Lexus since they don't offer the variety of vehicles either of those companies do. Lexus offers four regular sedans of different sizes, a convertible coupe and three suvs. BMW offers a much larger variety of cars, just look at the 3 series. They come in coupes, sedans and station wagons. So Infiniti with 2 sedans, a coupe and 2 suvs cannot compete in sheer volume with those two.

And the RX-series SUV makes up most of the Lexus sales. Just like the 328 for BMW.

Are you kidding me?

The G35 is what dug Infiniti out of serious financial trouble only 4 model years ago. The 1st gen G was a fantastic seller.
