Hmmm... I'm kind of starting to appreciate the 17" rims on my X after all of these stories...

Same wheel here. It's ugly looking.

Same here if anyone is selling a set of rear rims or tires Please PM me. Its killing me every time I look at it. I have read some other post and it cost around 600 or 700$ for a new tire and rim from the dealer.

Just get the wheel repaired man. My dad did the same thing on his Lexus GS several years ago (at a drive-thru), and I took it to a wheel repair shop and they fixed it for $100.

Inflation says it might be more expensive, but if the rim is only cosmetically jackup up (not warped) then it can be repaired.

I was impressed because it was scraped REALLY deep but they polished it and even put the same finish back on it. You couldn't tell at all.

Quote: im in CA, i was thinking about selling all 4 of mine but shipping to virginia would cost A LOT!
Shipping would be about $170 with Fedex Home Delivery. I just sold a set on eBay, and shipped them from CA to NJ for that amount.

It's not true that these wheels can't be color matched. To do it correctly, there should be a base coat of black under the silver.

My local wheel repair guy (Velvet Touch in Socal) works for all of the local Infiniti dealers. He was able to perfectly match the Hyper Black on a set of M Sport wheels. (Mine were seriously stained by acidic wheels cleaner. Mike from Velvet Touch says that this is a very common problem with these wheels, as the paint used by Enkei is not too great. I consider myself to be better than OEM now, with a perfect color match, and a nice, protective clear coat)

Cost for a complete refinish, including any ding repairs, should be about $100-125.

Call your local dealerships, and see if they can recommend someone.

Quote: I remember seeing tires (the brand name escapes me right now) with a highly pronounced rubber bumper strip molded into the sidewall of the tire. If the particular size is selected properly in relation to the rim, there would be little chance the rim itself would ever make contact with anything other than that tire's rubber.

Now - what was the name of it? If I recall correctly it was definitely not an American/European brand. Perhaps someone here knows which tire I am talking about?
I've had Bridgestone RE750s that have a sidewall lip that protects your wheel lip. Won't protect you too much if you smash into a curb or something, but an occasional rub won't have much affect on your wheels with a tire sidewall lip.

Yeah, either these or the Falkens mentioned a little earlier up. More tire mfrs. should think about offering this feature, it might even pump up sales...

The Falkens saved me numerous times in my Maxima. The only problem is they didn't last very long.

I will second your fault!!!

I scrapped my rims too lookin cool for a chick, 1200 miles, i heard theres people who will fix it for 150 a rim, but i doubt a powder coating company can fix an OEM wheel 20/20.

guys any ideas? , or can you sell me a 17" for a reasonble price.
