Anybody install parking sensors?

As anybody installed parking sensors? I see some pics with people with the factory installed parking sensors, looks like its overseas though.

Is this something that we can have intergrated to the headunit with infinti/nissan equipment or will this have to be aftermarket and have the little meter display attached somewhere.

The reverse camera works well for this.

please dont do that - those little portholes in the bumper look terrible.

My guess would be the dealer would install a cheap aftermarket setup that woudl look like crap.

Depends on what you want the parking sensor to do If you want it to jam laser, look at LPP - one of the best laser jammers on the market. And as it is a "Parking sensor" - legal almost everywhere.

the parking sensor things look very ugly and ruin the bumper i think.

if your car didnt come with the camera id look into an aftermarket option or trying to fit the oem one in.

I'm not too bothered by the look of the sensors on the bumper as long as it's the same color as the bumper. However, a lot of the aftermarket sensors don't work all that well, especially if it's not mounted at the right angle. It they're pointed too much to the ground you get a lot of false positives which isn't too bad, but it will get annoying. Then most of them don't have an on/off switch, some do, some also have displays, but IMO they look ugly no matter where you mount it on the dash.

Yeah, if you haven't bought your car yet, I would definitely get the Tech Package - IMO the camera alone is worth the $1,100. The lights and ICC are cool too, but not as useful.

Unfortunately, you need to get the nav package in order to get the tech package.

I have trouble doing the camera since there is no way to do so unless you change HU.

Everytime I see a car with those horrible bumper plug parking sensors, the bumper is scratched and banged up.
Goes to show how well they work.

My friend's wife drives a Pacifica which has these sensors.
She says that they beep everytime she's in reverse... even if nothing is there, because they are too sensitive.
For that reason, she's learned to tune them out.

A few months ago, she backed into a friend's car which was parked outside her garage.

yeah not a fan of the way it looks on bumpers. my gripe with the reverse cam is the fisheye effect it has. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that if you use the guidelines on the screen to reverse into a parking stall, you come out very crooked. Maybe a calibration issue that I need to get checked? Must rely on my pre-reverse cam skills :P

Infiniti starts selling their cars in China this month. All G35 they are selling there have parking sensors front and back, plus head light washers. Another difference is the Chinese version has rear red fog light under the center bumper.
Parking sensors are really useful though.
